Congratulations! Having relocated my family a dozen times in the past 30 years...I expect there is no elegant way to do it, but your warm email has proved me wrong.
I have a friend who moved to LA from the Bay Area who got a moving service that professionally catalogs every thing they put into a box. I would imagine it cost a pretty penny. It also doesn't solve the problem of unpacking boxes and finding a place for things.
